Harvest Festival is a time to gather with thankful hearts to celebrate God’s goodness and the abundance of his creation. We give thanks for the food we enjoy, for those who work the land, and for all the gifts we receive each day, often without noticing them.
In doing so, we recognise that every good gift comes from God. Harvest is an opportunity not only to give thanks for the fruits of the earth, but also to remember our dependence on God’s grace. Just as the fields receive the rain and sunshine they need to grow, so we receive from God all that sustains and nourishes our lives. Harvest also reminds us to share generously with others – in gratitude for what we have received, we are called to care for those in need and to be good stewards of God’s creation. As we celebrate God’s provision, may our hearts be filled with thanksgiving, generosity, and hope.
