Baptism in Wye Reaches Benefice

‘In the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit’

Riley Jefferies on 8th March at Ganarew

Jack Jefferies on 8th March at Ganarew.

We welcome this young Christian with joy and pray for his parents and godparents.

There is no charge for a Christening (or Baptism) service.  To arrange a baptism at any of our churches please contact Revd Jill Stephens, 01600 890975 or

Baptism is a public event because it is the whole church that welcomes each new member, child or adult, Baptism will take place at a Sunday service, normally the Family Service, but this can be discussed with the member of the clergy who will be taking the service. Parents who are confirmed or are regular church goers may prefer the Baptism to take place during a service of Holy Communion.

It is not our practice to conduct private Baptisms except for overwhelming Pastoral reasons, which again can be discussed with a member of the clergy.

Baptism is a visible sign of God’s love for your child.  It is a declaration that you want Jesus to be part of your child’s life and it is a sign that your child is a member of the Christian Church
